Kumana is designed to collect as little as possible. This page explains what we handle and why.
What we collect
- Event submissions. When you add an event, we store the details you provide (event name, organiser, dates, industry, format, location, description, and an optional link). These are intended for public display once approved.
- Abuse prevention. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes your IP address transiently to rate-limit submissions and block abuse. We do not use it to profile you.
- Local storage. If you add an event while offline, a copy is kept in your browser's local storage so you don't lose it. It never leaves your device unless submitted.
What we do not do
- No user accounts, and no passwords.
- No advertising trackers, and no selling of data.
- No cookies for tracking. (If privacy-friendly, aggregate analytics are added in future, this page will be updated first.)
Processors
Event data is stored with Supabase (our database) and served through Cloudflare. Both act as data processors on our behalf.
Your rights
Consistent with the Zambia Data Protection Act, 2021, you may ask what we hold about a submission you made, and request correction or deletion. Email hello@kumana.co.zm.
